Cruising Day 11: A Sea Day with Friends

Day 11. Things were coming to a close, not that any of us wanted them to. It was our last Sea Day, and the group that had met during the Chef’s Table experience all got together over steak at the same restaurant for lunch. The food, as usual, was phenomenal, and we all got to reflect on what a great cruise we had had. We were closest to Deb and Tom, a couple we’ll be cruising again with in just a week (!!), but had run into the others on several occasions, including the Galleon tour the night before, so it was fun to share our experiences.

After lunch, we took in a show that aimed to showcase some of the finest singing talent onboard and then went to the Martini bar for one of their infamous Martini flights. The spectacle of the twelve different Martinis all in a stack, being poured all at once into our glasses, was incredible, and it looked amazing. People were queueing up to take pictures and videos when it happened. All the drinks were fantastic!

After that we were free for a few hours before joining Deb & Tom at Le Petit Chef for dinner with the ‘classic’ video experience. The videos weren’t quite as cute or brilliant as the newer Le Petit Chef & Family from the previous night, but the evening was still a joy and delicious, and experiencing it with new friends made up for anything lacking.

We’d heard earlier that there had been a medical emergency on board and that we had gone from a leisurely cruise to our next port to an all-steam-ahead rush, so we weren’t surprised to get back to our stateroom after dinner and find us nudged up against a dock.
